The last stage of the Lithuanian automobile rally and rally sprint championships “Samsonas Rally Utena” will start on Friday afternoon in Utena. In the morning participants were already waiting for shakedown. The time of its completion is not counted in the total result of the participants.
At 10 o’clock all willing participants could complete the shakedown of “Samsonas Rally Utena” that started in the morning. In this relatively short distance of 3.9 km the Finns Sami Pajari and Janni Hussi showed the best result. The crew starts in this competition in the Škoda Fabia N5+ car of Martynas Samsonas, the name partner of this competition. They recorded 1 min in the first attempt and 53.8 sec. time in the second attempt. Neither they nor anyone else improved this result later.
Authors of the second result were the duo of Justas Tamašauskas and Dovydas Ketvirtis. They race in a Škoda Fabia R5. The duo lost 1.3 seconds to the leaders. The crew of Dominykas Butvilas and Renatas Vaitkevičiaus, who had already secured the title of Lithuanian rally champions for the third time. They were 1.6 seconds behind the leaders of the test track.
The solemn opening ceremony of “Samsonas Rally Utena” competition is scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m. next to the Creative Industries Center “Taurapilis”, where the rally headquarters is located. The starting arch is already installed here. From here participants will move to the first Special Stage. On the same day four daytime and two night Special Stages will take place. After them at 9.30 p.m. a concert of the group “Begėdžiai” is planned, which will take place on the Big outdoor stage near the Utena cultural center.
Saturday is the second day of the rally. It will start at 8:25 a.m., when the first car will start on the first stage of the second day. The prize giving ceremony for the participants of “Samsonas Rally Utena” are scheduled at 9:00 p.m., followed by a concert by Donatas Montvydas and the band. The competition will have a live broadcast. The broadcast will be available on „Facebook“ page of rally.
