“Samsonas Rally Utena 2023” will be held under the flags of three championships – LARČ (Lithuanian Rally Championship), LARSČ (Lithuanian Rally Sprint Championship) and LRČ (Latvian Rally Championship). Here are some facts about the similarities and differences between these three championships

The main Lithuanian rally championships, where the fastest crews and the best cars meet

  • The championship consists of 6 events. The n-1 rule applies, where the worst result is eliminated in the calculation of the final result.
  • The championship consists of absolute AWD and 2WD classifications and 10 separate classes (LARČ1-8, Historic and Junior).
  • Mono Tire Rule. All participants in the championship will drive on Pirelli tires of the same compound.
  • Each event has a special stage designated as a “Power Stage” for which the fastest crews to complete it will receive additional points.
  • Points will be awarded for the first 15 places in overall and classes. All participants who finish below the 15th place will receive 1 point
  • The number of tires is limited in each event of the LARČ. 8 units if the length of the rally is shorter than 100km, 10 units if the length of the rally is shorter than 120km, 12 units if the length of the rally is more than 120km.
  • On the last event of the LARČ a coefficient of 1.5 is calculated for the points collected by the crews
  • The length of the rally must not be less than 100 km and not more than 150 km for a two-day rally. Not less than 80 km and not more than 120 km for a one-day rally.
  • Drivers younger than 18 or even 16 years old can participate in the championship

Lithuanian rally sprint championship is one level below LARČ. Here, simpler cars race, and the rally distance and duration are shorter, so the competition requires lower costs.

  • The championship consists of 6 events, including a winter rally and event in Latvia. The remaining four rallies will be held together with the LARČ.
  • The n-1 rule applies, where the worst result is eliminated when calculating the final result.
  • The championship consists of 6 classes – SGC2, SGC3, SGC4, 2WD, Open and J.
  • Each stage has a special stage, marked as “Power Stage”, for which the fastest crews that complete it will receive extra points.
  • Points will be awarded for the first 15 places in overall and classes. All participants who finish below the 15th place will receive 1 point
  • The minimum length of the LARSČ event is 50 km, and the maximum length is 80 km.
  • The rally must not last longer than two days (starting with the administrative commission and ending with the announcement of the results)
  • FIA homologated equipment is obligatory, but must be less than 5 years old
