“Samsonas Rally Utena 2024” presents nine special stages in which almost a hundred crews will compete for the championship titles of Lithuania, Latvia and the Baltic Sea on September 27 and 28 on the roads of Utena, Zarasai and Anykščiai districts. The organizers of the rally have tried to design the special stages differently than last year in order to give the rally participants the opportunity to fight for fractions of a second as much as possible.
On Friday, September 27, some of the drivers will have the opportunity to test themselves and their cars on the shakedown SS0 (“Vasaknos”), located just outside the town of Utena from 9.45. Later, after the ceremonial opening of the competition at 13:00, the entire group of participants will move towards Zarasai, where they will have to tackle the 8.13 km SS 1/3 (“Shilinė” / “Utenos Betonas”) stage twice and the 11.64 km SS2 (“Langasta”) once. A special feature is SS 1/3, which will be like an espresso cup for the participants at the start of the rally, with a very dangerous corner through the jump at the end. After these gravel stages in the Zarasai district, the crews will return to Utena and wait for the evening, which will be crowned with a double night speed stage through the streets of Utena – SS4/5 (“Battery” / “KIA”) – starting at 19:30.
On September 28, a Saturday, there will be no time to sleep, because, from 8:50, the participants will set off in the direction of Tauragnai, where two special stages await them – SS6/8 (“STS” / “Jusema”) and SS7/ 9 (“Nordis” / “Viada”). The latter section begins with the impressive jumps of Vilkablauzde, and the GR 6/8 winds past the legendary village of Šeduikiai and the crooked corner through the jump, which has an extremely rich history. The end of the special stage is one of the most beautiful parts of the rally along the shores of Lake Politiškis.
After lunch, the participants and spectators of the rally head north, where they overcome the 8.80 km long SS10 (BosInox) and continue their journey towards Anykščiai and the longest special stage of the rally – the 14.45 km long SS11/12 (Samsonas Motorsport ” / “#Visit_Utena”), which is driven twice. The rally concludes with the 6.59 km SS13 (Ramirent) with “Powerstage” status, on which the fastest participants receive bonus points.
At the end of the sporting part of the rally, spectators and participants can look forward to a “DJ MIX” concert at 19:30, followed by a festive award ceremony with fireworks at 20:30, and the entire event will be crowned with the “AC/DC Tribute.lt” concert from 21:30.
